5 quirky assets sold at Pickles in FY 21/22

Check out all of the weird and wonderful items found at Pickles sales in the last 12 months.

Pickles gets a year-round front seat to some of Australia's best vehicle and machinery items, whereas sales of quirky assets only appear sporadically. From spooky objects to souped up drag racing cars made of gold, weird and wonderful assets are always fun to work with.

As we farewell the 2021/22 financial year, we’ve compiled our top 5 favourite quirky assets that were sold by Pickles.

1. Halloween decorations

For Pickles customers who like to creep it real, the Halloween Props, Costumes and Shelving equipment auction in June 2022 was the perfect way to trick and treat yo’ self. Featuring a ghoulish range of skeletons, paintings, props, gore and more, items sold swiftly to Pickles halloween enthusiasts. 


 

2. Custom-built gold BMW 3 Series

While Pickles is no stranger to amazing vehicles, a custom-built high-performance drag car cut quite a spectacle among the items offered in the Pickles Salvage Vehicle Auction held at the end of November. The once well-known modified BMW 3 Series came with enough gold detailing and customisations to befit a drag king or queen.


 

3. Wave machine

In October 2021 Pickles hosted the sale of a wave pool machine that had buyers interested for shore. A swell of Pickles viewers were interested in the board rider wave machine pool, with bidders jumping at the opportunity to be able to surf year-round.


 

4. Orange juice vending machine

Pickles is partial to a sweet deal, and our sale of orange juice vending machines &  glass display cabinets was no exception. The zesty sale attracted a range of orange juice enthusiasts who were tempted by the opportunity to access a freshly squeezed juice making machine.


 

5. Half pipe skate ramp

Cheapskates flocked in droves to view our online sale of a half pipe skate ramp. Pickles was pleased to help buyers access their pipe dream with the uncommon skate item. While the Pickles team isn’t used to selling large scale skate ramps, we decided to just roll with it!
