Here are the pros and cons of coupes, SUVs, hatchbacks, and sedans:

SUV

SUVs, sport utility vehicle, are fast becoming one of the most popular types of cars.  While generally SUVs have a 4-wheel drive, which helps it drive over a variety of terrain, it isn’t mandatory - some are equipped with a 2-wheel drive to improve weight and fuel economy.
Defining features

• Raised above the ground to drive over rugged terrain
• Often 5-7 seats
• High roof offering interior space and headroom
• Designed to go off-road as well ideal for city driving

COUPE

The coupe body style tends to be used in luxury and sports models, for its aesthetics and aerodynamics. The coupe first appeared in the 1800s and technically has less than 33 cubic feet of rear interior volume.
Defining features:

• Generally, 2 main seats in the front and sometimes 2 smaller seats in the back
• Sleek, sloping roof
• 2 doors
• Closed-body style

HATCHBACK

Compact, stylish and with a model to suit every budget, hatchbacks are a popular car with a characteristic boot. Traditionally they are low to the ground and are good value for money. They tend to be economical and cheap to run.
Defining features:

• Boot lid opens upward to a compact trunk space
• Roof curves down into the boot lid
• 2- or 4-seat doors
• Seats can be folded down to create more space

SEDAN

• B-pillar that supports the roof
