Aviloo is a European-based leader in battery testing technology.

Through Aviloo’s solution, Pickles connect to the Battery Management System (BMS) of an EV to get an overall diagnosis of the motor vehicles battery. This is done when a motor vehicle first arrives at Pickles.

Example of Battery Certificate Preview on Pickles motor vehicle listings. Use the QR code to access an in-depth Independent Battery Certificate on each tested motor vehicle.

An independent battery health score is based on a large amount of test data and is a combination of current measured values and historical data held by Aviloo.

Total energy consumption, the number of charging and full cycles, driving behavior etc. are interpreted and integrated into the State of Health (SoH). The higher the SoH, the better the battery condition is. If substantial risks are detected, the Battery Certificate Preview provides a 'Red Flag' report, with specific references to the nature and type of error.

Be advised this SoH may be higher or lower than the manufacturer’s SoH, and that the manufacturer would likely rely on their SoH in the event of a battery issue. The manufacturers SoH is visible within the Independent Battery Certificate which can be viewed using the QR code on the Battery Certificate Preview.
The Independent Battery Certificate provides test results for many critical battery components including BMS State of Health SoH (the manufacturer’s own SoH), driving range, energy and cell voltage readings, average battery temperatures, comparison benchmarked battery data etc.
Using the QR code displayed on the Battery Certificate Preview image allocated to an electric vehicle, the Independent Battery Certificate can be downloaded. Simply enlarge the Battery Certificate Preview image and using a mobile phone or other such device, hover over the QR code to launch the certificate in a web browser
This is the battery state of health as indicated by the manufacturer in the motor vehicles battery management system (BMS).

Sometimes, this will match the Aviloo SoH and sometimes it won’t. Aviloo’s SoH can be higher or lower than the manufacturers SoH. In the event of a future battery warranty claim, the BMS State of Health (SoH) (the manufactures SoH) is what the manufacturer would refer to using their own battery testing equipment. Some manufacturers (OEMs) use ‘buffering’ within their SoH calculation which can inflate a SoH due to additional reserved battery capacity and can result in a SoH higher than 100% at times.
These will be displayed on most EVs located in Sydney and Melbourne initially. Other Pickles branches across Australia will be enabled with the test hardware soon after. Older generation EVs, newly released EVs that may not yet be configured by our European hardware partner and other circumstances may prevent us from displaying this information on every EV.
