We have an online tool that allows you to complete a self‑appraisal on your vehicle. Once submitted, your vehicle will be reviewed, and we’ll provide you with a purchase price and auction estimates.

With Pickles, you can sell a variety of items including:

• Your car, whether it is owned outright, financed or under a Novated Lease
• Fleet vehicles and equipment
• Industrial equipment (Trucks, Trailers and Machinery)
• Recreational Goods such as Motorbikes, Caravans and Marine

There are two ways to sell your vehicle through Pickles:

1. Direct purchase: Pickles buys the vehicle from you at an agreed purchase price, with ownership transferring from you to a nominated Pickles entity.
2. Consignment sale: You retain ownership of the vehicle while Pickles sells it on your behalf via auction. In this case, you become the vendor and receive the sale proceeds once the vehicle is sold.

Pickles can make an offer to buy the vehicle from you as a Direct Purchase.

Absolutely. We will still need to ensure that the vehicle will be clear of any security interests registered on the PPSR upon completion of sale.

If the payout is higher than the estimate provided, the gap payment must be paid before dropping the vehicle at your closest Pickles motor vehicle branch. Any surplus (if applicable) after paying out the financier will be refunded accordingly.

Pickles will review your self-appraisal submission and provide you with a buy price, auction estimate or both. You can then decide which selling option suits you best.

It can take up to 5 business days for the vehicle to be prepared and lotted into auction.

Subject to Pickles receiving full payment from the buyer, it can take between 7-10 business days for the sale/auction to be reconciled and for you to receive your payment, less any applicable fees and deductions which will be outlined in the account sale document.

Commission will be charged at 4.4% of the sale price (with a minimum commission of $550 inc GST), title check fee of $33.00 and a detailing fee of $104.50 (Detailing fee of $440 inc GST for NT) including a roadworthy certificate fee will also be charged if completed.

If the vehicle hasn't received any bids, or if bidding hasn't met the reserved price, the vehicle will then be lotted into another auction.

If the vehicle receives a bid that is under the reserve price you will be contacted by a Pickles staff member to see if you would like to proceed with a sale at less than the reserve. This is called a referral. You will have the option to accept the referral or to re-lot the vehicle in another auction subject to any conditions. If you would like to collect the vehicle and remove it from sale, the vehicle can be collected pending payment of the title check and detailing fee.

Unfortunately not. Pickles use real-time data to determine auction estimates. Reserves are set in line with our estimates to ensure prices accurately reflect our own marketplace.

Pickles has extensive experience in selling industrial equipment, offering comprehensive auction services to connect vendors with interested buyers in this sector.

You can sell your vehicle directly to Pickles, with a purchase price provided after a brief online self-appraisal including photos. There will also an option to sell via consignment if preferred.

If you would prefer a purchase price, please use the Selling With Pickles Self-Appraisal Tool. You will be able to complete an inspection using the tool. The team will get back to you within 2 business days with a purchase price.

No, Pickles’ valuation and offer are completely free. Fees may only apply for vehicles sold via auction or consignment.

Providing you can supply payout advice from your financier, including their banking details and the GST inclusive payout value, Pickles can make direct payment to them on your behalf.

Vehicles are sold in either Pickles Live or Pickles Online auctions, where both private customers and dealers will bid on your vehicle.

A member of our team will reach out and outline what paperwork is required. Various items (original invoice, a payout letter, registration papers etc) will be necessary to complete the sale or consignment.

No. Vehicles can be sold unregistered or registered.

Yes. Even if you have already paid out your residual, you can still use novated lease remarketing.

Yes, if selling via consignment. All novated lease vehicles have an agreed reserve price before being proposed for sale.

Yes. Your leasing company should be able to provide you with an early termination value or early payout value.

No. Pickles offers door-to-door national transport to move vehicles from any location to one of our facilities. The cost of this service can be deducted from the agreed purchase price or deducted from the vehicle proceeds if using out consignment method.

No. Pickles’ self-appraisal tool helps us understand the condition of your vehicle upfront. All vehicles are booked in and inspected within 2 business days of arrival before payment is made to the seller or finance company to ensure the condition of the vehicle mirrors what was reported during the self-appraisal process.
