The Green Vehicle Guide, an Australian Government Initiative, ranks vehicles best to worst based on their CO₂ emissions. Based on their rigorous testing, they have listed the top 20 vehicles. See below for the full list.

The Green Vehicle Guide, an Australian Government Initiative, ranks vehicles best to worst based on their CO₂ emissions. All vehicles are tested in accordance with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 81/02 to determine both fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Vehicles are ranked by combined tailpipe CO₂ emissions (lowest to highest). In cases where the tailpipe emissions are equal, vehicles are then ranked by urban CO₂ emissions, followed by extra urban CO₂, energy consumption, electric range, air pollution standard and noise. Where all results are equal, vehicles can then be ranked in alphabetical order (by make, model and variant).
