Corrective Services New South Wales is calling for expressions of interest on the sale, salvage and removal of all sawmill plant and equipment located at the Glen Innes Correctional Centre. The plant and equipment will be sold in one line as a non-divisible lot and includes:
Sawmill in-feed and de-barker equipment
Breakdown saws, Gang saw, VSA saw (Vertical saw arbour) and green chain auto trimmer.
Finished timber line equipment
Overhead Scragg primary sawmill complete with log optimize for efficient log to timber recovery rate
Auto docking capability
High temperature kiln
Various other machines and assets
The CSI sawmill has been operating at Glen Innes Correctional Centre in the Northern Tablelands for over 30 years. In 2012 / 2013 it received an upgrade to improve its already impressive log sawing capabilities and increase the recovery rate for log processing by an additional 15%. This has increased capacity to be able to process over 400 cubic metres of sawn timber per day. New downstream equipment has been commissioned to produce dried and dressed timber in a cost-effective way. In addition to processed timber, the facility at Glen Innes provided pine bark, ground timber and sawdust.

All persons submitting an Expression of Interest (“EOI”) are required to fill out the EOI Document with details of their offer. EOI’s can be submitted in writing at the Pickles Auctions Branch or via email. The successful applicant only, will be advised within ten (10) working days. All WHS rules must be adhered to at all times. For full terms and conditions please see Expression of Interest Document attached.
All items must be removed by appointment only with the project manager and prior to 15th of October 2021. Buyer, Contractors, Tradespeople & all Transport Operators must fully comply with all site specific WHS regulations & induction processes before entering the site. Buyer is responsible to ensure facility and surroundings are left in make good order when purchased items are removed. The sale of the assets will be in one line and as such all assets must be decommissioned and removed from the site in full.
All tendering parties will need to submit detailed WHS documentation including copies of safety management system, Safe Work Method Statements for removal processes, copies of all contractors / trades & personnel licences, copies of Certificate of Currencies for Public Liability and Workers Compensation insurances etc. The decision-making criteria will also include a review of this information.
Health and Safety
The Auctioneer and the Vendor have warned prospective Buyers, in relation to plant and equipment, that no plant or equipment offered for sale is fit for use in any workplace and it is the Buyer's or User's responsibility to ensure that the plant is brought to a safety standard necessary to comply with any Act or Regulation before use.
