Calling all motorcyclists to ride for a good cause

Pickles is proud to be the major sponsor of Variety Adventure Ride, a charitable event dedicated to raising funds to provide mobility aids and support to young and disadvantaged Australians. Each year, the 7-day motorcycle event raises funds to give Aussie kids a fair go. In 2023, the ride will take place along the Flinders Range in South Australia from 19 to 25 March.

Variety Adventure Ride is still looking for recruits! If you need an excuse to take your bike for a long ride, then the 2023 adventure may be for you. The 3,000-kilometre route starts in Dubbo and finishes in Lightning Ridge, tracking its way through parts of the scenic Gammon and Flinders Ranges, the vast Strzelecki Desert, and the awe-inspiring Cameron Corner. Trailing through Australia’s unique native environment, memorable outback sunsets and morning wake-ups by birdsong are likely, and it’s an experience that will make memories that will be treasured for years to come. It’s not a race or speed contest, but a journey of teamwork and endurance.

Amongst the adventurous 2023 riders, Nick Johnson will carry the flag for Pickles. Our Salvage GM is an enthusiastic participant of Variety Adventure Ride 2023 and takes to the dirt each year with gusto.

Nick says of his relationship with Variety: ‘I have been a big supporter of Variety for more than 20 years, over the years I have participated in countless Variety events… The Adventure Ride is just another fantastic Variety event that raises much needed funds for the disadvantaged and kids in need.’

Pickles has been a major sponsor of the fundraiser since its inaugural event in 2020. Funds raised from the adventure ride will go towards helping sick and disadvantaged Australian children who have needs ranging from standing frames to custom wigs. If you can’t join the ride but can join the cause, head to the Variety Adventure Ride page for different ways to donate.
